Overview
Ashok Leyland Driver Training Institutes (DTIs) are part of the company’s nationwide initiative to enhance road safety and professionalize commercial driving. Established in 1995, these institutes operate in partnership with various state governments, and currently, there are around 16–17 centres across India. One such centre is the Berhampur DTI in Odisha, established in 2003 through a public-private partnership with the Government of Odisha. The Berhampur institute is equipped with modern classrooms, driving simulators, test tracks, and residential facilities, and it offers training in heavy and light commercial vehicle driving, eco-driving, vehicle maintenance, soft skills, and emergency handling. These centres cater to both new and experienced drivers, helping them develop safe and efficient driving practices. Collectively, Ashok Leyland’s DTIs have trained over 21 lakh drivers across the country, making a significant contribution to safer roads and skilled employment.

Impact & Scale
DTIs across India have transformed road safety standards and livelihoods by training over a million commercial vehicle drivers since inception.
